Since 1982, we have served individuals, families, and businesses in Central Virginia with the guiding principal to treat others as we would like to be treated. We understand the diverse needs of our clients because we are business owners with families. This also lends itself as to why we would never recommend a product or service that we did not fully understand or believed would meet our clients’ needs over the long run. We are long-time neighbors and friends who simply desire to serve others with the knowledge and skills we have acquired in the over 30 years we have been in business.
We are prepared to walk with you through every stage of your financial life, adjusting plans and strategies as your circumstances change because we understand that your dreams drive you. It’s helping you finance those dreams through timeless financial advice that drives us.

At James River, our process is to listen, diagnose and craft holistic, goals-based financial plans based on our clients’ unique needs. Following a fiduciary approach that combines investment suitability and risk tolerance due diligence, we address head-on the challenges and issues a client has, but does not want, and help create a path to the results they want, but do not have. Overall, our process aspires to a “10X philosophy” that seeks to achieve for our clients an overall experience that is ten times (10X) better than what they expected or experienced previously with a competitor firm.
2. Clarify: We gain clarity on our clients’ needs and goals.
3. Plan: We build a plan that will bridge the gap between where clients are now and where they want to be.
4. Invest: We then fulfill the plan.
5. Communicate: We work with our clients to agree on how often and by what method to communicate, review, and update the plan as life events occur.
6. Review: As time goes on, we repeat these steps as necessary.
